Allard Ockeloen

Chief Executive Officer, Director

As CEO of Storm Mountain Development Corporation, Allard is spearheading the acquisition and development of Storm properties. Allard has been directly involved in real estate development since 2005, after a successful career in the semiconductor industry.

His experience spans the most detailed aspect of each industry to the overall management of companies and projects. In addition he has a background in engineered housing solutions.

Under Allard’s leadership, Storm Mountain  was able to launch the first phase of its flagship development ‘the Foothills’  in April of 2017, 51 lots sold in the first day and the entire first phase was sold out in 3 months ($24 million in gross sales revenue)

From 2005 to 2011 Allard was the Director of Projects for Sorensen Fine Homes, responsible for all financial related activities as well as strategic planning, property management, investor relations and institutional financing. 

He managed all aspects of development for 4 rurally situated properties in British Columbia, from managing land acquisitions, Municipal entitlement work, site planning and design, construction (contract) management, disclosure statements, to overseeing marketing and sales programs. 


John Reed

John is President of Reed & Associates which provides management consulting services to large master planned development projects across the United States and British Columbia.

In his 40 years of experience in real estate development John has managed the land planning, entitlements, engineering, marketing and sales of over 1,000 lots and constructed 38 miles of roads and utility lines. 

He has managed the design and construction of more than 250 homes and four golf courses by legendary designers Jack Nicklaus, Robert Trent Jones II, Tom Fazio and Hale Irwin.

Prior to forming Reed and Associates John was Senior Vice President of Development and Construction with Kensington Partners for 13 years and managed the development of their highly regarded 700 unit Cordillera project near Vail, Colorado. 

John began his career by starting his own home building company which he operated for 14 years constructing custom designed homes in the resort areas of the Rocky Mountain West, most typically in Aspen, Vail, Steamboat Springs and Jackson Hole.  His past successes have been attributed to his strong team building skills and unwavering attention to financial metrics.

Ben moved to Engel & Völkers to form Engel & Völkers Development Services in 2016 to continue his sales and marketing real estate career. Providing real estate envisioning, marketing and sales services through Granville Street Consulting since 2008, Ben supports developers with the challenges of taking real estate projects to market. 

Formerly, Ben was the Vice President, Business Development for S&P Destination Properties. With eight years of real estate experience, representing over US$1 billion in sales, Ben directs complex real estate projects from conception to marketing and sales to closing. 

Some of his most noteworthy projects are the $750m one day sellout of Trump Tower Waikiki, Bulk Sales of City Center Remaining Inventor in 2013 for MGM worth $135m, and MAC Bulk, a high intensity liquidation of five Lower Mainland developments worth $120m. In 2017, Ben lead the launch of The Foothills in Lantzville, BC, resulting in 65 home sites being sold in five months totalling $25m in sales. The Foothills project is a 1834 acre masterplan community with approvals for 700 homes and 900 acres of park lands. 

Ben is a goal-oriented individual with strong leadership capabilities. He holds a Bachelor of Science from Skidmore Univercity located in Saratoga Spring, New York, and is a licensed realtor in BC and California.



Jean Tardy-Vallernaud

As Managing Director of Los Angeles-based Gainsborough Capital LLC Jean’s focus is on advising institutional and high net worth investors on Western Canadian Real Estate. He joins us as Special Advisor to the Storm Mountain Board of Directors, contributing to the development and financial structure of the company as the Storm Mountain portfolio grows. His career spans three decades with senior positions in New York, Europe and California with major U.S. institutions (Bankers Trust, First Interstate International Private Bank, Citibank Private Bank) and Swiss private banks (Banque Privée E. de Rothschild, Julius Baer). Client profiles have ranged from government agencies to multinational corporations and wealthy individuals – primarily in the Americas, Europe and Southeast Asia.

Jean-Francois de Clermont-Tonnerre

Advisor to the board

Jean-Francois de Clermont-Tonnerre is a serial financial entrepreneur with 25 years of experience in Banking, Asset Management and Private Equity.

In 2007, Jean Francois de Clermont-Tonnerre founded Abrax Amaerus a Merger Arbitrage Fund, today one of the top 5 performer in its category. He was active as director of the company until 2017. In 2013, he founded 1788 Capital a Swiss Asset Management firm sold 2 years later after having taken the firm from no assets to over 500M$.

In 2015 he acquired AUM Asset Management, a Fund Manager with no activity. Today AUM Malta has over 400M$ of assets and is one of the largest fund manager in Malta.

Since 2010, he is advisor to the board of Storm Mountain Corp, a Canadian real estate developer company that he co-founded in 2010 with the Management.
